Brief explanation of the Dua of Laylatul Qadr by Sh Abdullah Hasan

“We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power: And what will explain to you what the night of power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allaah’s permission, on every errand: Peace! It is till the break of the morning.” [Qur'aan 97:1-5]

“The Goodly Life” – Sheikh Muhammad Mukhtar Ash-Shinqiti

Life, is either for a person, or against him. It’s hours and seconds, days and years pass him by Leading him (by his actions) to the Love and Good Pleasure of Allah until he is amongst the people of Ultimate Success and the Gardens of Paradiseor they are against him, leading him (by his actions) to the Fires of Hell and to the Anger of the One, the Just Ruler [Allah].

Life, either it will make you laugh & rejoice for an hourover which you will cry for an eternity (in the Hereafter) or it will make you cry for an hour over which you will laugh & rejoice for an eternity (in the Hereafter).

Life, is either a great blessing for a person, or an adverse affliction against him.

The Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr): Step by Step Guide & Laylatul Qadr Checklist

Laylatul Qadr:A simple guide to success

  1. Start preparing for it at Fajr time. After Fajr Salah make sure you do the morning dhikr especially ‘La ila illahu wahdau la sharika lahu, lahul mulku walahul hamd wahuwa ‘ala kulli shayin qadeer ‘’ 100 times. The Prophet said whoever says it 100 times in the morning and evening, 100 good deeds will be recorded for you and 100 evil deeds will be erased from your tab, and you will be protected from the shaytan. Important issue here is that you will be free from the whisperings of the shaytan to prepare for the Night of Power.
  2. Treat Iftar to a fasting person, either by inviting him to your house, or by buying the food for him and sending it to him. The Prophet said that whoever breaks another person’s fast he will receive the same reward as the person without his reward being diminished.
  3. When the day breaks make as much dua as possible that Allah helps you and makes it easy for you to worship Him during this night.
  4. If you haven’t payed your Zakat money pay it this night as the rewards will be magnified. If you have then prepare some sadaqa to give in the way of Allah. Remember charity burns our sins as fire burns wood.

Venerating Commandments

By Farid Haibatan
The purpose of servitude is to submit and comply out of love and subservience; attaching importance to orders and prohibitions is thus a manifestation of venerating Allāh the Most High. Allāh says, “That (has been commanded), and whoever honours the sacred ordinances of Allāh – it is best for him in the sight of his Lord…”[1] Allāh also says, “That (is so). And whoever honours the symbols (i.e., rites) of Allāh – indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.”[2] The widespread occurrence of acts of disobedience, evil deeds and corrupt desires in Muslim lands is solely due to weakness of faith and the disregard for the veneration of Allāh’s commandments. This veneration means to abide by the texts of the sacred law; to have a genuine adherence to their demands and indications, and to cling to them firmly. The directives from Allāh and His Messenger rightfully deserve reverence and execution, indeed Allāh says, “It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allāh and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should (thereafter) have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allāh and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.”[3]

A simple guide to calculating your Zakat

Zakat is commonly referred to as either a tax or as charity. Neither of these is accurate as Zakat is a divine duty. Zakat is considered a right of the poor over the rich. Withholding it is tantamount to depriving the poor of their God-given right.

Allah (SWT) says of the wealthy in the Qur’an;

‘In their wealth there is a known share for the beggars and the destitute’ (70:24-25)
‘Take alms from their property that you may purify and sanctify them and pray for them. Verily your prayers are a comfort for them’ (9:103)

Ramadhan: The Burner of Sins

The meaning of the word Ramadan

Imam ar-Raghib said:

Ramadan is taken from the word Ramad which means that which is intensely or vehemently heated by the sun.  And the word Ramdhaa means the intense heat of the sun. The Arabs used to say about the sheep that they were ‘burned (ramidat) while they were grazing under the scorching heat of the sun to the extent that their livers became damaged (by the intense heat of the sun). Ramadan was named such because it burns the sins of the believers. [1]
